Andrew Schmidt is 2015 PFCC Champion!
Tebow's QB Camp is Group Champs

by: Sugar (not February, 2016)

It is way past time to show some dirty-dawg love to the dawgs that brave the marathon of all dirty-dawg contests, the PFCC! The contest that starts in September and doesn't end until early February takes its toll on everyone, even the folks that write these articles, apparently! PFCC 2015 wrapped up with Denver beating the favored Carolina Panthers and it ultimately ended the great Peyton Manning's career. After a big victory, of course.

The other guy that earned a big victory was Andrew Schmidt, from Peachtree City, Georgia, who moved from 5th place after the regular season into the PFCC championship spot after a 291 point Super Bowl Blowout. Andrew finished with an impressive 1002 points and overall record of 158-81. It may seem that Andrew only gets this delayed write-up as his glory, but he will have the admiration of dirty-dawgers everywhere, forever, and that folks, you can't buy. Congatulations, Andrew!

Steven Tensfeldt from Monroe, NY is the 2015 runner-up and Silver Dog Bone medalist. Steven led the contest going in to the Super Bowl Blowout, but fell a little short with a 268 point blowout score. He finished with 995 points on a 158-81 record. Steven also holds the silver bone from the 2011 PFCC. Very impressive, Steven! Both Andrew and Steven got the Super Bowl match-up correct, but they had 12 on Carolina and 11 on the eventual champ Broncos.

This year's Bronze Bone PFCCer is dirty-dawg veteran Jon Zeitler. Jon finished with 990 points and went 154-85 during the regular season. Jon had 12 on the Pats and 10 on Denver. Caiden Orosco finished 4th with 980 points, but had the best overall record at 159-80. Another long-time dirty-dawger, Ed Calianese was 5th with 975 points. Martha Hilgemon, veteran Tina Fausey, Kenneth Entremont, John Werner and Doug Nave rounded out the Top 10 for the 2015 version of dirty-dawg's longest contest. And I hate it when someone says everyone's a winner, but if you played each week of the PFCC, you can go ahead and call yourself a winner. You won't get a new car, but neither does anyone else!

For the Super Bowl Blowout itself, Linda Kunches from Niwot, CO (between Boulder and Longmont) and Doug Nave from Elizabethton, TN (between Cincinnati and Charlotte) are PFCC co-champions with identical scores of 303 points. Way to go Linda and Dave! Jerry Durham from New York, NY (you probably all know where that is) finished 3rd, just 2 points back with 301 points. Jason Beaman and Carolyn Levert tied for 3rd with 299 points. Each of these dirty-dawgers had 11 on Carolina and 12 on Denver! You see how easy this contest is? Just get the Super Bowl match-up and eventual champion correct and you are all set. The 6th place finisher, Ed Calianese had 12 on Denver, but 11 on Arizona and 10 on Carolina. Very impressive, folks.

Finally, it is hard enough to remember to enter picks each week for yourself, but getting a whole group of dawgs to do so is a real challenge! With that said, Tebow's Quarterback Camp is the 2015 PFCC Group Champions with a whopping average score of 880.86. Tim Tebow is NOT on the team, but overall 3rd place Jon Zeitler is, along with Larry Hopper (16th), Aaron Treadway, Nick Hampshire, Jason Runyen, Bob Fogarty and Monte Oaks. Tebow's beat always tough runners-up Gulf Coast Rumblers and 3rd place Tulsa Twisters. Je me souviens and Going Up 4 the TD rounded out the Top 5 for group play for 2015. Congratulations to all on some high-end football prognostication!

That is finally a wrap on the 2015 PFCC. PFCC 2016 begins on September 11, 2016 and will wrap on, that's right, February 5, 2017. So, enjoy the rest of the summer and make sure to head back to your favorite sports web site in early September for the best time of the year!
