PFCC Week 13 Recap: 1 - 5 + 4 = Bench

by: exRegionalWeenie (December 8, 2016)

You saw that stat line, right? San Fran QB Colin Kaepernick dropped a "1 for 5 with 4 yards passing" line on the injury riddled Chicago Bears defense last week. Yes, I know there was a little snow, but that's beside the point. Coach Chip Kelly saw enough by the start of the 4th quarter so he benched Kap in favor of Blaine Gabbert. Goodness. Hey Kap, maybe you should shelve the "I'm gonna void my contract and test free agency" talk until after the season.

More Interesting Numbers
- Did you see that Philly QB Carson Wentz chucked it sixty times in the loss to Cincy?
- Drew Brees failed to throw a TD pass in his home game - first such time that's happened since 2009!
- Cowboys TE Jason Witten was held without a catch (ended catch streak that started back in 2008!).

Pick Six. Pick Two. Pick This.
Atlanta battled KC the whole game and finally took a 28-27 lead late in the 4th quarter. So you go for two to make it a three point lead, right? Well, not if KC's Eric Berry is on the field. He intercepted Matt Ryan's two-point attempt at the goal line and returned it 100 yeards for a "Pick 2" to win the game. LOL. And he already had a Pick 6 earlier in the game.

Jeff Fisher's Contract Extension
Shortly before the Los Angeles St. Louis Los Angeles Rams game kicked off, rumors swirled that Coach Jeff Fisher had signed a two-year extension. This seems pretty nuts because Fisher is just two losses shy of having the most losses by a head coach. Even nuttier, Fisher admitted in the post-game presser that he signed the extension back in the summer. Don't teams announce these kinda things rather than keep it secret for months?

Week 13 PFCC Results
Tom Dang and Deanna Wolfe tied for the best score in Week 13 with 99 points each. That's almost triple the average score for the week which was a 35. Tom had a slightly better record (13-1 vs 12-2) but we all know what that gets you in Dirty-dawg.

Brandon Bigelbach and John Friend were in third and fourth place for the week with 93 and 91 points, respectively. We had a 3-way tie for fifth place this week as Bob Fogarty, Joel Veeneman and Mark Cunningham each scored 89 points.

Overall Standings After 13 Weeks
Saint Augustine, Florida's, Ben Nelson is living large again this week as he maintains the pole position. Salt Lake City's Christine Kruse remained in second place. Although she has the exact same record as Ben (120-59), she is 32 points behind the leader. There was some minor jockeying in ranks 3-5. Joe Kunches moved up a notch into third place while Daniel Noirot moved up one place into fourth. Ted Champney slipped a couple places and now resides in fifth place. Places 6 through 10 are now held by John Zittel, Carol Overton, Alan Rezek, Jerry Bailey and Deanna Wolfe, respectively.

Group Play Standings
The Carolina Crushers are leading in the year-to-date Group Play Standings. They have a commanding 13+ point lead over the BoomerBacks and almost a 16 point lead over the third place team called We're here to WOW ya! (Note to team: We'll be WOWed if you can make up that 16 point deficit. Otherwise, you're losers just like the rest of us!)
