CFCC-ATS, An All-New Contest

Here at dirty-dawg.com we don't necessarily stay on the bleeding-edge of sports contests, after founding the original online sports confidence contests in 1999!

That changed in April with our first CBCC16, Sweet 16 Redemption Contest and will continue this Thursday with the launch of our latest concept: College Football Confidence Contest - Against the Spread!

That's right! Part of our rallying cry has always been "...forget the spread, forget the fantasy..." but we know there are players out there that hate the fact that Johnny Vegas is so good in the classic CFCC, so we decided to remove him from this contest.

How will it work? Well, you will be offered up the same games as in the CFCC, but instead of picking the winner of the games straight-up, you will pick them against the spread. Which spread? That's a good question.

We all know point spreads move throughout the week and right up until the games start. For this contest, we will open the game form (usually) on Thursday mornings, which will give the lines time to cook most of the week and still allow time to demonstrate your brilliance before the game form closes at the same time the CFCC form does. The first player to open the game form (whenever that may happen after the form becomes active) will lock the odds number for each game for that entry and the remaining entries until the form closes. This will ensure that all players are picking the outcome of the games against the same line. Picking games against the spread is hard. What's harder is putting confidence factors of 1-15 on those games as well. That's the wrinkle. We didn't say this was going to be an easy contest!

So, those among you that like a real challenge, here is your opportunity to display your betting savvy, without risking any money. We will run this contest as a trial this season, without most of the bells and whistles you are accustomed to in the classic CFCC. Right now we just have the game form and standings wired up, but we will add the rest of the goodies if this concept proves out and the interest is there. We will even add a PFCC-ATS version for the real sadist dirty-dawgs out there!

Be ready to go on Thursday for the inaugural CFCC-ATS with a deadline of 11 AM CDT on Saturday, September 5!! This new contest is accessible from the Contests/College Football Menu. Until then, brush up on the rules unique to this offer and enjoy!
